Listen

You are a human being not a human doing.
It wouldn't hurt if I took a day off. A day off work, off talking, off worrying, off blogging and just listen.
I begin the day at 7.00am on my knees, spirit filled with joy and just listen. Off to the shower, turn on the water and it splashes over me, hmmm...listen to its rustling sound and a smile; satisfied. I am putting on my lovely sun dress, it feels so light and free and ready to compete with nature, while I listen to streaming cool morning songs. Off to breakfast and its breakfast at my favorite cafe, they are tuned to a wake-up show. Sunny breakfast, listen, its the waitress, pouring tea.
And now, time to enjoy the best part of the day, my walk. The trees are so green, the flowers waking and waving hello, the river is so 'crisp' guess I could say that, the sidewalks are clean, the air smells pure and I listen to the birds 'chirp' 'chirp' tweeting. A song is in my heart

1. This is my Father's world,

and to my listening ears

all nature sings, and round me rings

the music of the spheres.

This is my Father's world:

I rest me in the thought

of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;

his hand the wonders wrought.

2. This is my Father's world,

the birds their carols raise,

the morning light, the lily white,

declare their maker's praise.

This is my Father's world:

he shines in all that's fair;

in the rustling grass I hear him pass;

he speaks to me everywhere.

3. This is my Father's world.

O let me ne'er forget

that though the wrong seems oft so strong,

God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father's world:

why should my heart be sad?

The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!

God reigns; let the earth be glad!

I skip on as I listen to my heart sing.

Take a day off, go somewhere quiet, listen to nature. If you cannot do it alone, get a friend to tag along and take the time to listen, you just might find fulfilment.
